Leather Grades and Durability

Understanding leather grades is crucial for furniture durability and aesthetics. Explore how different leather types affect your investment, ensuring quality and longevity in your product line.

01

Understanding Leather Grades and Their Impact

Leather grades significantly influence both the durability and aesthetic appeal of furniture. Full-grain leather, known for its strength and natural look, retains the entire grain layer, making it highly durable and ideal for high-traffic areas. Top-grain leather, slightly sanded to remove imperfections, offers a smooth finish and is widely used for its balance of softness and durability. Split leather, derived from the fibrous part of the hide, is less durable but commonly used in less exposed areas of furniture. Bonded leather, made from leather scraps and fibers, is more affordable but lacks the durability of higher grades.
02

Material Choices: A Focus on Leather

When sourcing leather furniture, selecting the appropriate material is crucial. We offer a range of leather types to suit different needs, including full-grain and top-grain leather, preferred for their resilience and premium look, and bonded leather options for budget-conscious projects. Our leather sourcing aligns with sustainable practices, supporting both environmental responsibility and product longevity.
03

Quality Assurance and Finishing Techniques

Quality assurance is a cornerstone of our production process. Our rigorous quality control (QC) measures are implemented at every stage, from material selection to the final product. Our finishing processes include aniline and semi-aniline treatments, which enhance the leather’s natural beauty while providing protection against wear and stains, plus pigmented finishes for added durability in high-use environments.
04

Packing and Shipping: Ensuring Safe Delivery

Our packing protocols are designed to protect the integrity of our furniture during transit. Each piece is carefully wrapped in protective materials and secured in sturdy cartons. For larger shipments, we utilize reinforced wooden crates to provide additional security.
05

Container Loading and Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ)

A 20ft container typically holds approximately 28 CBM, while a 40ft container can handle about 58 CBM; a 40ft High Cube (40HQ) offers around 68 CBM. The per-item MOQ for solid-wood furniture ranges from 5-20 pieces, whereas woven or rattan items typically require 10-30 pieces per model or color.
06

Incoterms and Export Logistics

We primarily operate under FOB terms, where we manage export clearance and loading at Indonesian ports, while buyers handle sea freight and insurance. Our main export seaports include Tanjung Perak in Surabaya, Tanjung Emas in Semarang, and Benoa in Bali.
07

Compliance with SVLK Certification

All our wood products comply with Indonesia’s mandatory SVLK certification, ensuring legal timber sourcing and traceability. This certification is crucial for buyers adhering to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and the US Lacey Act.
08

Lead Time and Production Capabilities

Typical production lead times range from 30 to 60 days, influenced by order volume and specific finishing requirements. We offer OEM/ODM services, with pre-production samples provided for approval. Our factories are located in strategic hubs such as Jepara and Bali.
09

Payment Terms and Negotiations

Typically, a deposit of approximately 30-50% by T/T initiates production, with the balance due against a copy of the Bill of Lading. Negotiable terms are available for repeat buyers, fostering long-term partnerships.
